Businesses, organizations, or individuals may desire to hire off-duty, uniformed officers for an event for the purpose of security or traffic control/safety. All off-duty police services provided by the City of Canal Fulton must be approved by the Chief of Police and assigned by the Canal Fulton Police Department. Requests for service that exceed the department’s capabilities or are not consistent with departmental policies will not be honored.
The current hourly rate is $40 per hour, with a four-hour minimum. Traffic control related details are $45 per hour. The charge for a police vehicle is an additional $5 per hour. More details can be found on the attached agreement.
The agreement must be completed, signed, and submitted at least 10 day prior to the requested event. The form can be completed and turned in at the police department, by mail, by fax, or by email to swilson [at] cityofcanalfulton-oh.gov .
